Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
